About Me

Are you crazy?

Are you crazy is what many of my friends and family asked me when I came up with this idea to do more than just create "motor head" blog, but to actually create an interactive virtual magazine where the readers become the Chief Editors. Why this is a crazy idea is that I'm not a journalist by trade, and I've never actually worked in the auto industry.

I currently live in the Lansing, Michigan area, and I work as an IT Program manager during the day. I'm a retired Army Reserve Logistics Officer, who started my career in the Army an enlisted light wheeled vehicle mechanic. It was during those formative years back in the mid-1980s that I really developed my lifelong love of all things automotive. Having bought, rebuilt and sold dozens of now classic U.S. muscle cars from GM, Ford and Chrysler, as well as a couple German cars from BMW and VW, I've realized there were things I enjoyed about each and every vehicle from the tree stump pulling torque of a 1979 454 Big Block Chevy to the quick spooling and smooth turbo acceleration of Ford's modern day V6 Eco Boost 3.5L. In my travels, I've had the opportunity to drive a new Porsche Carrera within a couple days of the recently released  (at the time) 550HP Shelby GT500. Two amazingly fast rides but 180 degrees in road feel and handling.

Anyway, I invite you to share in this motor maven madness, and become my contributing editors, so we can all share in what this blog can become.

Sincerely,

Tom Manzagol

(Chief Motor Maven)
